Elizabeth Painter, Ph.D.

Elizabeth is a range ecologist with strong interests in conservation.

Elizabeth Painter, Ph.D., earned a master’s degree in botany and a doctorate in ecology from Colorado State University. In addition to being a research associate at Santa Barbara Botanic Garden, she is also a research associate at University of California, Berkeley. Painter is a range ecologist with strong interests in conservation and is a contributor to “The Jepson Manual” and “The Jepson Desert Manual.” She is a recognized expert on the impacts of grazing on rare and endangered plant species in rangelands.
